The APV is the internationally-oriented, interdisciplinary, independent professional society for pharmaceutical technology and industrial pharmacy in Germany, with the goal to deepen scientific and practical knowledge in the development, manufacturing, analytics, quality assurance, distribution, and use of pharmaceuticals and medical products, and to disseminate this knowledge within professional circles so that effective and safe products continue to be available for patient healthcare. A total of 34 participants from industry and academia met at INVITE for this year's APV members' meeting. The scientific programme included two informative lectures on the topics of “Dosage forms for animal health products with a special focus on topical formulations” by Dr Hans-Jürgen Hamann and “Intelligent automation” presented by Dr Carl-Helmut Coulon.

As part of the programme, there was a live demonstration of modern mobile robotics, as well as the opportunity to visit the newly built EFRE-co-funded research building of the Drug Delivery Innovation Center (DDiC) and INVITEs’ technical testing centre.
