On March 5, the 28th Technical Committee (TC) Meeting took place at the Process Automation World at Siemens in Karlsruhe. The event saw the participation of nearly 30 persons from both academia and industry, who gathered to share news and updates related to various research projects and topics within the Drug Delivery Innovation Center (DDiC). An important announcement was the introduction of Dr. Carsten Olbrich in his new role as Technical Director of the DDiC. Attendees were also treated to a comprehensive scientific program, which was complemented by outstanding Siemens plant tours and live demonstrations. These demonstrations showcased highly automated and modular facilities and process cells, specifically designed to meet the demands of the process industries like chemical, water and pharma. Key highlights were a virtual laboratory environment, which could be accessed via VR glasses, and plant modules directly implementable via plug-and-play. Overall, the meeting provided a valuable platform for knowledge exchange and collaboration, furthering the advancement of innovative solutions in drug delivery.
